Create Organization Units

Bulk Creation of Organizational Units in Google Workspace Using Genius Workspace Manager

Genius Workspace Manager allows administrators to create multiple organizational units in Google Workspace directly from a structured Google Sheet.

To begin, open your Google Sheet, navigate to Extensions > Genius Workspace Manager, and click Launch.

Once the add-on is open in the sidebar, select Manage Organization Units > Create Organization Units, then click Execute to generate the working sheet.

Populate the sheet with the following required and optional fields:

  • Name* – the name of the organizational unit

  • Parent Org Unit Path – the full path of the parent unit (defaults to / for root if left blank)

  • Description – optional description of the organizational unit

Once the data is prepared, select Synchronize in the sidebar and click Execute.

Genius Workspace Manager will process each row and create the organizational units in your Google Workspace account. The result of each operation will appear in the Status column of the sheet.
