Yes, you can enable or disable a day using the radio button that appears next to each day. However, please note that if you disable a day without entering its settings, all the periods you’ve set for that day will be enabled when you turn it back on. Similarly, if you disable it from outside, all periods will be disabled.

If you have multiple periods set within the day and want to enable or disable specific ones, you will need to access the settings for that day and click Save to apply your changes.

We’ve provided a pre-written message, but you can easily change it and write your own. You’ll find its placement at the bottom.

You can delete Recurring – Out of office from your Gmail account whenever you like.

The auto-reply might take up to 5 minutes to activate, depending on server load.

The add-on uses the time zone set in your Google Calendar settings. Make sure your calendar’s time zone is correct.

Yes — once you change the days or hours, please deactivate and reactivate the add-on so the changes can take effect.

Gmail is designed to send only one automatic reply per sender every 4 days. If someone emails you more than once during that period, they’ll usually receive only the first reply. However, in practice, Gmail often sends auto-replies more frequently than the 4 days — but it’s not guaranteed and depends on Gmail.

Different senders will still receive replies normally.

You can see this rule in Gmail settings:
Gmail → Settings → See all settings → General tab → Out of Office AutoReply section

The add-on simply enables Gmail’s native Out of Office AutoReply feature. All automatic replies are sent directly by Google’s servers, not by the add-on itself. This ensures high reliability, security, and full compliance with Gmail’s sending rules.

Yes, you can set the specific times you’re out of office for each day. You can also add a start and end time for every period within a specific day.

We have written a subject for you, but you can change it and write your own. You will find the placement at the bottom.

Of course you can activate and deactivate the addon whenever you want just by turning on and off the activate button.

Once you set the add on and you choose the days and, if needed, the hours you are out of office, as long as Recurring – Out of office is activated the message you have written will be sent automatically to everyone who sends a message.

Τry adjusting your Chrome browser settings:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data > Allow all cookies.
  • Alternatively, you can try using an incognito (private) window to resolve the problem.

To make sure your Out of Office (vacation responder) reply is sent to all senders, do not enable the following two options in your Gmail settings:

  • Only send a response to people in my Contacts

  • Only send a response to people in … Group” (or your organization)

If either of these options is checked, your auto-reply will be restricted and some external contacts may not receive your message.
Make sure both options are unchecked so your message reaches everyone who emails you while you’re away.

At this time, due to limitations imposed by Google, it is not possible to customize the formatting of messages sent through the add-on. This includes:

  • Applying bold, italic, or other text styles

  • Changing fonts, colors, or text size

  • Preventing automatic line wrapping after a certain number of characters

We understand the importance of message customization and will continue to monitor any changes to Google’s policies that might allow for greater flexibility in the future.
