Update Organization Units
Bulk Update of Organizational Units in Google Workspace Using Genius Workspace Manager
Genius Workspace Manager enables administrators to update existing organizational units in Google Workspace directly from a structured Google Sheet.
To begin, open your Google Sheet, navigate to Extensions > Genius Workspace Manager, and click Launch.
Once the add-on is open in the sidebar, select Manage Organization Units > Update Organization Units, then click Execute to generate the working sheet.
Populate the sheet with the organizational units you wish to update. The following fields are available:
Org Unit Path* – the full path of the organizational unit to be updated (required)
Name – new name for the organizational unit
Description – updated description
Parent Org Unit Path – updated parent path
To avoid unintentionally overwriting existing data, do not leave optional fields blank. Instead, remove the entire column for any attribute you do not wish to update.
Once the data is prepared, select Synchronize in the sidebar and click Execute.
Genius Workspace Manager will process each row and apply the updates. The result of each operation will appear in the Status column of the sheet.
